Concierge is not marketing
How the firm’s relocation concierge service for incoming Western expat families actually works.
When we say "concierge" we mean a real operating function, run by Rana Shaheen, with six years of Doha-relocation experience before she joined the firm. We do not mean a brochure benefit.
The service exists because Doha is a hard city to land in cold. School placement is competitive — Doha College, ACS Doha, SEK and Park House all have priority lists, and a relocating family without an introduction is starting at the back. Household staffing is a regulated and paperwork-heavy process. Vehicle leasing is straightforward but the leases the relocation services typically present are not the best in the market. Each of these is a small operational problem with a known correct answer that we have run dozens of times.
For a family signing on a property of QAR 9M and above, or leasing above QAR 600,000 per annum, the concierge service is included. For lower bands we offer it as a paid service at QAR 18,000 for the first ninety days. We do not subsidise it from sales fees, we do not lock the family into using it, and we will refund any unused portion if the family decides they would rather solve the problem themselves.
